FAQ
There are several possible reasons for this.
First, check if the water flowing from the regular taps in that area is running normally. If the main water pressure is normal, the issue might be caused by:
(1) The water filter may contain a high-filtration membrane, which naturally slows down the water flow.
(This is normal for high-density filters such as RO, NANO, UF, and CERAMIC.)
(2) Low-quality filters.
When a water filter has been used for some time, the filter membrane will naturally become clogged. This can be caused by several factors, such as:
• The level of usage or the number of users.
• The quality of the incoming water source. For example, if you use the water filter during a period when the public water authority is cleaning the water pipes, mud and silt can get into the system and clog the filters.
• Bent or kinked water tubes, which restrict the water flow.
• Weak tap water pressure, which may require the installation of a water pump.
The water quality varies in each area, especially in upcountry provinces, where the water may be cloudier and have more sediment than in other places. Even tap water can differ significantly by location. When the incoming water has a high level of turbidity, it causes the filters to become clogged much faster than usual.
Typically, the company provides a system or attaches a reminder sticker to let customers know when the filters are due for replacement, which is primarily based on the filters’ lifespan. However, you can change them earlier if any of the following abnormalities occur: the filtered water has an unusual smell or a chemical-like odor, or the water flow rate slows down significantly. These are signs that it is likely time to replace the filters.
The recommended filter replacement intervals have been tested and proven to be the most optimal timeframe. Using filters past their expiration date may result in water from degraded filters, meaning the filtration performance will drop and the water will not be as clean as it should be. Furthermore, the porous structure inside the filter can become a breeding ground for accumulated bacteria and germs, which can then contaminate the drinking water.
Today’s tap water can be used for both consumption and general utility. If you ask whether it is drinkable, the answer is yes, but if possible, we highly recommend using a water filter to ensure the water is in a much safer condition. This is because underground water pipes can corrode or crack over time, allowing contaminants to leak into the system. These range from visible organisms like iron worms or tiny earthworms to over 100 types of hazardous contaminants and heavy metals that are harmful to the body.
Furthermore, some areas occasionally face salinity issues in tap water caused by droughts and seawater intrusion, resulting in a strange taste, which makes it unsuitable for drinking without prior filtration.
As for general utility, it is mostly fine. However, in certain areas where tap water comes from municipal supplies or groundwater wells, using it to wash clothes can cause white fabrics to turn yellowish over time.
• Let’s first clear up a misconception: this has nothing to do with whether the stainless steel is “genuine” or “fake.” Stainless steel (regardless of the grade) is fundamentally still a type of steel, but it is not just ordinary steel. Take the forks and spoons we use every day, for example—why don’t we ever see rust on them? It is because every time we use cutlery, we wash and clean off the grease and food residue accumulated on the stainless steel surface. This allows oxygen in the air to react with the chromium in the stainless steel to form a protective, rust-preventing film. However, if left unwashed, oxygen cannot penetrate that layer of grease, and rust can form within about 4 to 6 months.
• Stainless steel Grade 304 / 304L, which is commonly used for water dispensers and water filters, is widely popular for general applications. It features rust-resistant and high corrosion-resistant properties, possesses excellent cold-forming capabilities, and performs well in welding work.
• The most common causes of rust occurring on Grade 304 stainless steel products are as follows:
Reason 1: The use of bathroom cleaners containing hydrochloric acid, whether poured directly onto the equipment or caused by chemical vapors left behind after cleaning.
Reason 2: Exposure to highly polluted environments, such as toxic fumes, cement dust or concrete splatter, industrial factory zones, or areas with high salt (chloride) levels and sea spray that blows in and settles on the stainless steel surface.
A.1 In case the water is not cold, check the position of the water dispenser’s On/Off switch. Sometimes, the caretaker or cleaning staff might have turned it off, mistakenly thinking that all lights and appliances must be switched off after work hours.
A.2 Check the power plug to see if it is plugged in properly and make sure it is not loose.
B.1 In case the water does not flow, check whether the water pump supplying water to the machine is turned on and operating.
B.2 Check the water storage tank to see if there is still water inside or if the tank is completely empty.
There are many sub-types, but if classified by their main purposes, they are divided into water filters for utility use (general household tasks) and water filters for consumption (drinking).
Water filters operate differently based on the specific characteristics and properties of their internal filter elements (cartridges).
First of all, you need to understand that a UV (Ultraviolet) system utilizes an electric lamp that emits ultraviolet radiation with a wavelength between 200 and 300 nanometers. This radiation effectively kills germs (by destroying their DNA) and completely inhibits their growth. However, there is an exception: if the germs are hidden under particles or what we call suspended solids in the water, they will escape destruction by the radiation.
The choice of which system to use depends on the homeowner’s requirements regarding the desired level of water cleanliness, as well as the initial condition of the water source in each specific area. For instance, municipal tap water from major cities, tap water within town municipalities, and groundwater drawn from areas with high limestone concentrations or coastal regions near the sea all yield water with vastly different qualities and characteristics.
Brand origin: whether it is a foreign brand from Europe or Asia, or a domestic (local) brand.
The filtration system, which varies according to the specific properties and characteristics of the filter cartridges, such as RO systems, UF systems, NANO systems, conventional systems, Softener systems, or UV systems. Additionally, adding various extra functions will increase the price accordingly.
The number of filter cartridges (whether there are many or few).
Consider the number of residents living in the household.
Evaluate the installation location, such as how the setup looks in the kitchen or pantry where you want it installed.
Check the condition and quality of the source water supplied to the residential home.
It depends on the user’s specific application and requirements, as well as the total number of users.
It depends on whether the intended installation location has sufficient space to accommodate the physical dimensions of that particular water filter size.
